Widex Allure AI

Hearing technology has long chased one difficult balance: clearer speech in noise without making the world sound artificial. In May 2026, Widex introduced a solution that approaches this problem differently. The Widex Allure AI RIC with Clarity Boost keeps the brand’s signature natural sound as the default experience and adds a dedicated AI co-processor that wearers can activate only when they need extra help.

This is not continuous AI processing running in the background all day. It is intentional, on-demand support designed to preserve the natural listening experience Widex is known for while giving users more control in challenging environments.

Building on the Allure Foundation

The Allure platform, powered by the W1 chip and Precision Hearing Technology, already prioritizes low-delay, natural sound. Allure PureSound with ZeroDelay technology and Speech Enhancer Pro aim to deliver clear speech while keeping environmental sounds intact and realistic.

The Allure AI RIC takes that foundation and adds a second chip. Everyday listening continues to run on the W1 chip. When the listening situation becomes more demanding—busy restaurants, group conversations, or noisy public spaces—the wearer can activate Clarity Boost. This engages a dedicated AI co-processor that uses an audio-specific neural network for enhanced noise management.

According to Widex clinical data, the system delivers up to 6 dB higher output signal-to-noise ratio compared with leading AI-based competitors in realistic conditions. Speech intelligibility results show performance equal to or better than competing AI devices, with reported improvements of up to 26% for moderate-to-severe hearing loss and 14% for mild-to-moderate loss. In wearer feedback, 95% reported improved speech in noise and 97% described the sound as natural and clear.

The key design choice is user control. Clarity Boost is activated with a simple tap on the hearing aid or through the Allure app. When it is not needed, the device stays in its natural-sound mode.

Battery Life, Design, and Everyday Practicality

The Allure AI RIC is engineered for real daily use. It offers up to 32 hours of battery life, including up to 6 hours of AI processing or streaming. This supports a full day of wear without constant recharging.

The form factor remains the modern, discreet RIC style of the standard Allure models. It is available in 10 colour options. Fitting options include multiple receiver lengths and a choice of instant or custom ear tips, plus two receiver strengths to accommodate changing needs over time.

Charging is flexible:

  • Standard charger
  • Charge & Clean (which dries and sanitises)
  • Portable Qi-enabled charger for travel

These options make the device practical for both home and on-the-go use.

Connectivity Built for Today and Tomorrow

Connectivity is a strong point. The Allure AI RIC supports:

  • Made for iPhone (mFi)
  • ASHA for Android
  • Bluetooth LE Audio
  • Built-in telecoil for hearing loop systems
  • Hands-free communication

LE Audio lays the groundwork for future features such as Auracast broadcast audio (availability expected via software update, depending on market and devices). Direct streaming of calls, music, and other audio is available from compatible smartphones.

The App and Personalisation Experience

The redesigned Widex Allure app supports the hardware with practical tools. Users can switch programs, including activating Clarity Boost, adjust sound with an equalizer, and use AI Assistants. The AI Quick Assistant draws on preference data from other users in similar environments for quick recommendations. The AI Sound Assistant helps create and save personalised settings for specific situations.

Accessibility features, battery status checks (including via Apple Watch), and simple program changes make the system approachable for a wide range of users. A separate remote control (RC-DEX) is also available for those who prefer not to use a phone.

Compass Cloud 2.0: Supporting Better Fits

Alongside the hearing aid, Widex released Compass Cloud 2.0, an update to its cloud-based fitting software. The platform incorporates insights from thousands of real fittings to improve first-fit accuracy and acceptance. Features such as an improved Adaptation Manager, expanded data logging, sound class adjustments, and Transfer Settings help clinicians refine fittings more efficiently. Cloud delivery means updates arrive continuously without disrupting workflow. More than 90% of wearers report that Allure hearing aids are easy to get used to.

Availability and Who It May Suit

The Allure AI RIC began rolling out in selected markets from June 1, 2026, with wider availability (including the US) planned for November 1, 2026.

This device is particularly relevant for people who value natural sound quality in everyday listening but still want stronger support in noisy environments—without that support running continuously and potentially altering the overall experience. It builds directly on the strengths of the original Allure platform while addressing one of the most common frustrations in hearing care: speech understanding when background noise rises.

As with any prescription hearing aid, individual results depend on the degree and type of hearing loss, the quality of the fitting, and personal listening needs. A consultation with a hearing care professional remains essential to determine whether the Allure AI RIC with Clarity Boost is the right match.

Widex’s approach with Allure AI prioritises natural sound first and adds AI capability only when the wearer chooses it. For many, that combination of everyday authenticity and targeted clarity may represent a meaningful step forward in modern hearing technology.
