If you’ve ever struggled to follow a conversation in a busy restaurant, at a family gathering, or in a noisy café, you’re not alone. Background noise is one of the biggest challenges for people with hearing loss. Signia’s new MaX platform (short for Multi-adaptive Xperience) has been designed specifically to help with those everyday situations.
The first hearing aid on this platform is the Pure Charge&Go MaX, a discreet rechargeable receiver-in-canal (RIC) model. Here’s what it offers in plain language, and why it may be worth considering if you’re looking for clearer hearing in real life.
Most modern hearing aids use artificial intelligence in some form. Signia MaX takes a different approach. It runs four specialised AI systems (deep neural networks) at the same time. Signia calls this combined system Acoustic Intelligence.
These four systems work together continuously:
Instead of switching between fixed programmes, the hearing aids adapt in real time as the situation changes around you.
One of the standout features is RealTime Conversation Enhancement AI. It is designed to locate and enhance multiple speakers in a group, even when people are talking over each other or moving around the table. Signia reports that 97% of wearers performed better in noisy group conversations with MaX compared with key competitor devices in their testing.
This is particularly useful in the situations many people find hardest: family dinners, social events, or meetings where several people are speaking.
Many people new to hearing aids notice that their own voice sounds strange or “boomy” at first. With earlier Signia models, the Own Voice Processing feature often needed a special calibration appointment in clinic.
On MaX, Own Voice Processing AI works automatically from the first fit. It has been trained on a very large number of voice samples and does not require that extra clinic step. This helps your own voice sound more natural more quickly.
The Pure Charge&Go MaX is powered by a new chip that Signia says delivers significantly more processing power while remaining energy efficient. Typical battery life is up to around 28–30 hours on a full charge (including streaming time), with a quick top-up option (about 30 minutes for several hours of use).
OneConnect Technology is another practical advantage. The hearing aids include:
This means you can stream phone calls, music, and other audio without needing multiple different models or accessories for different connection types. Control and fine-tuning are handled through the Signia One app.
The devices come in a choice of colours and are designed to be discreet behind the ear.
The Pure Charge&Go MaX is available in different technology levels (typically MaX 7, MaX 5 and MaX 3 in the UK). All levels include the full Acoustic Intelligence system and the core features described above. Higher levels generally offer more advanced conversation tracking and fine-tuning options for more complex listening environments. Your audiologist can help you decide which level best matches your lifestyle and hearing needs.
MaX is particularly well suited if you:
As with any hearing aid, the best results come from a proper hearing assessment, accurate fitting, and ongoing support. Technology alone is only part of the solution.
At Simply Hearing Consultants in Bridge of Allan and Moffat, we offer comprehensive hearing assessments and personalised fittings. Craig and Steven have extensive experience helping clients find the right technology for their individual needs and lifestyle.
If you’re interested in the new Signia MaX, we can talk you through the options, arrange a demonstration where appropriate, and support you with fitting and aftercare.
